How to Play
Jigsaw Puzzle Online lets you solve puzzles by connecting pieces together. Each piece has edges that match specific neighboring pieces, and your goal is to find the right connections to complete the image.
Getting Started
When you create a room, you can choose between cooperative and competitive modes. In cooperative mode, everyone works on the same puzzle together. In competitive mode, everyone works on the same puzzle, but you earn points for every connection you make. The player with the most connections wins.
You can also configure several settings:
- Piece Count: Choose how many pieces the puzzle will have. More pieces means a greater challenge and longer solving time.
- Layout: Choose whether pieces start in a clean organized layout or scattered randomly around the board.
Connecting Pieces
To solve the puzzle, click and drag pieces around the board. When you move a piece near another piece that it connects to, the pieces will automatically snap together if the edges match.
Each piece has connection points on its top, right, and bottom edges. When two pieces have matching connection points, they'll join together. Once connected, pieces move as a group, making it easier to build larger sections of the puzzle.
You can pick up any piece at any time, even if it's already connected to others. When you move a connected piece, all pieces attached to it will move together. This lets you rearrange entire sections of the puzzle as you discover better placements.
Strategy Tips
Start with the edges. Look for pieces with straight edges on one or more sides. These are the border pieces and form the frame of the puzzle. Building the border first gives you a clear boundary to work within.
Group by color and pattern. Once you have the border, look for pieces with similar colors or distinctive patterns. These likely belong to the same area of the image, making it easier to find their neighbors.
Work in sections. Instead of trying to connect pieces randomly, focus on completing one area of the image at a time. This could be a person's face, a building, or any distinct feature.
Use the image preview. If available, refer to the complete image to understand what you're building. This helps you identify where pieces should go and what sections you should work on next.
Take your time. There's no time limit in cooperative mode, so you can relax and enjoy the process. Maybe someday we'll add a competitive mode where you race against others to finish a puzzle first!
Workshop and Custom Puzzles
The workshop feature lets you upload your own images to create custom puzzles. This means you can turn any photo, drawing, or image into a puzzle that you and your friends can solve together.
To create a custom puzzle, upload an image through the workshop system. The game will automatically cut it into pieces based on your chosen settings. You can then share your custom puzzle with others or keep it private for your own use.
Custom puzzles are a great way to personalize your puzzle-solving experience. Create puzzles from vacation photos, artwork, memes, or anything else that catches your interest.
Achievements and Progress
As you complete puzzles, you'll unlock various achievements. These include completing your first puzzle, finishing puzzles quickly, connecting many pieces in a row without mistakes, and tackling larger puzzles with 100 or more pieces.
